Set Up Putty

In this section you will setup Putty so you can access the server command line.

Requirements

Install the open source software Putty in order to access the server.

Creating a "Bookmark"

  1. In the "Host Name (or IP address)" field, enter ssh.modernleft.org.
  2. In the "Port" field, enter 2225.
  3. In the "Saved Sessions" field, enter a name for this session, such as "AAC Server".
  4. Click "Save" to save the session.

Signing In

  1. To connect, select the saved session and click "Load", then click "Open".
  2. When prompted, enter your username. If you don't have a username, please contact the AAC organizers. Click enter to proceed.
  3. When prompted, enter your password. Note that you won't see any characters as you type your password for security reasons. Click enter to proceed.
